This EP package was made available a little earlier on in the year but I liked it so much that I thought it was still worth the review. It consists of 3 tracks - two original and one remix. I'm going to start like usual with my personal favourite track on the EP; however, it's a hard choice to make because they are all simply stunning!
Liquid Sunrise is a collaboration with G-Nome and an absolute stormer of a track. So much so in fact, that I listened to it on repeat for almost two hours exploring the depth and feeling of dimension each cleverly crafted sound created. It sits at a comfortable 143 bpm but the crisp, tight production makes it sound a little pacier. The track kicks in to a rolling bassline picking up quirky little sounds along the way until the percussion starts to appear, at which time the track starts to pick up a real sense of urgency. As it progresses you can almost feel the sun beating down on as your mind gets whisked away to a party in some remote corner of the globe... In short, totally cheese-free daytime trance!
Next up is a chunky remix of Sonic Species' Bend The Future. The original is a fantastic slab of eerie dusk-time trance that has already featured on a couple of compilations, most notably Neurobiotic's Neurology series. This remix takes the original and keeps the integrity of it, but picks up the tempo ever so slightly. Crisp, clean percussion keeps things moving along as it starts to delve in to the atmospheric feeling of the original further down the line. The type of music I find it all so easy to get lost in...
Last, but by no means least is the title track Rewired. The track starts to build momentum with some some creepy, metallic sounding leads with some nice dark soundscaping adding to the scope of things. Evening time trance is the order of the day here as analogue type synths take over and lead the track to a an almost groovy conclusion!
In all, a very tasty EP that I have already been smashing the crap out of in this part of the planet! Seriously worth your while if you like intelligently created, multi-dimensional psychedelic music. An absolute must-have!
