» Hakkapeliitta Compilation Volume 1

Label: FiNRG
Format: CD
Genre: Hard Dance

Hakkapeliitta Compilation Volume 1 is the first Scandiavian hard dance compilation. This 10 track magnum opus showcases the finest collection of Finnish artists and collaborations, eaturing Proteus, Alek Száhala, Carbon Based and DJ RX just a name few. The tunes present the finest gems of the Finnish vision of harder dance and freeform, handpicked by the artists themselves. The unmixed CD sits perfectly for DJ use as well as a brutally entertaining home listening experience.

All 10 tracks feature the trademark "hard & dry" sound characteristic of the Nordic region, with some of the tightest production I have ever heard in hard dance. The breadth of the sounds represented on the album is something else too - from the stunning hard trance anthem "Payback Time" from Carbon Based (which I have been hammering for several months now), through the industrial edginess of Proteus' remix of Kuroshio Current's deadly "Hollow Man", to the awesome 303-laced freeform stormer "Decimator" from Ephexis, DJ RX & Carbon Based.

Every track is eminently playable in its own right, but what strikes me is the way the album flows - you could easily leave this running at a (admittedly bonkers and BPM ridden) house party or similar and it would just notch up & up fantastically.

Quite simply, one of the most innovative, forward thinking and exciting new hard dance compilations I've heard in a long time!

The CD is available to from www.FINRG.com and www.electronicaexposed.co.uk
