Label: Spinnin'
Format: 12" Vinyl
Genre: Electro-Tech

Over this past year Spinnin’ Records has gone from strength to strength, consistently spoiling us with quality Trance and Tech Trance music. As a result of this consistency they have had world class DJs such as Markus Schulz, Sander Van Doorn and Thrill Seekers voting them in at the top spot for ‘Label of The Year’ in the recent ‘DJ Mag Top 100 DJs’ edition. When the tracks are as good as this one, is easy to see why!
During recent times we have seen an influx of ‘Electro influenced’ music making its way onto the scene and this track sits perfectly in this genre, that I myself, am absolutely loving! (I've called it Electro-Tech, what do we think to that?) Championed by the likes of Sander Van Doorn and Marco V, this style has been doing the business worldwide and has a more than respectable fan base.

There’s a sweet kick drum and great percussion loops from the off that give the track a nice tough, tribal feel, and that always sits well with me! The bassline is really subby and sits just underneath the track giving it a cool techy rumble that sounds and feels awesome on a big system. As the track builds, there are a few stuttery drum loops and fills which are pleasing to the ear and keeps things exciting. A cool vocoded vocal is introduced that adds some depth, along with some wicked phased synthy sounds as we enter the breakdown, and this is where the magic starts to really happen! Everything filters down and we’re treated to a few moments of relative calm in the form of some gorgeous flowing pads and swooshes. Everything is filtered out and the track almost comes to a complete stop, but just before it does we welcome a killer little riff! We’re only teased with a few notes before the track comes blasting back in from nowhere and its all systems go! The riff is simple and created by only 6 notes, but its very effective, and gives the track a completely different feel as it turns into a filthy, techy, electro fuelled monster! It continues to thunder along nicely with cheeky little cuts, squelchy electro stabs, squeaks and synth sounds before dying down for the outro.

This track is an indication of how genres are so frequently merging these days, and how much more receptive audiences all over the world are becoming, and I for one welcome it! Simply put, this track will devastate all surrounding dance floors so you have been warned! This will be at the front of my box for the foreseeable future!! Keep it Spinnin’! Thumbs up
