Big Tool 4 U

» Just Cum + Bitch Trog

Label: Tidy
Format: 12" Vinyl
Genre: Hard House

‘Big Tool 4 U’ comes courtesy of Superfast Oz and Project Mayhem. The boys from PM have been quiet on the scene for a while now, but with this release it would appear they’ve dusted off the Juno and are making a return! ‘Just Cum’ is a cool track which chugs along nicely and samples a few classic hard housers, the most recognisable being a classic AM:PM release ‘Just Cum’ from 1996. The track keeps a lot of the original vibe but this time round it’s a bit tougher, and has and all round harder feel, which works really well with the awesome old skool riff! There’s a nice little synthy stab on the off beat too, which gives the track more of a groove and fills the sound out nicely. I can also hear a little ‘Porn Kings’ sample in there too, so the boys really have been influenced by the classic sound, and this is evident, although I’m sure the track will work well on the floor.
‘Bitch Trog’ is more of a ‘Hard House Stomper’ and again samples a few classics, including ‘Dyewitness’ and the excellent ‘Keep Rockin’ of Trade fame. The track has been championed by the likes of Ian M and Glazby due to the fierce kick, crisp percussion and savage hoovers! The ‘Keep Rockin’ vocal works really well here and really keeps the energy levels up. Every time I hear it, it reminds me of being in Trade about 8 years ago shouting ‘keep Rockin’ at the top of my voice whenever the original was played! Them were the days, hehe! So, in conclusion, if you like your House Hard then you’ll love this! It’s not the most original release, but both sides will rock on the dance floor, guaranteed! Thumbs up
