Yup... it was time for another SA's harder summertime party this time in conjunction with ESP, Ministry Of Sound & 5Fm with a list of local & international Dj's to cater for everyone's taste !
Andrew Nalin from Nalin & Kane of Beachball fame, 4 Strings, the Fiery Bossy from Cosmic Gate, Mr C from the Shaman as well as Roy the roach.
Upon arrival we knew this was to be one blistering event, the queue was large and the sun showed no mercy !!!
Splash centurion had been transformed into a dance wonderland with 3 arena's already in full swing !
On the Phillips Ministry Of Sound Floor we had all the internationals doing there thing Mr C & Andrew Nalin started off with some blissful tunes to get everybody into the mood, followed by 4 Strings and Cosmic Gate who are always the favourite of the day as anthem after anthem was dropped much to everyone's delight !
On the VW surgery floor the funkier side of things where explored by DJ's Roger Goode, Roy The Roach, Stereotribe, (Dean Fuel & Dino Moran), Ryan Dent and Ricardo.
I must admit for an event focusing more on the progressive side of dance music this floor was constantly packed with people shaking there asses to the funky tech beats !
In the ESP arena party animals where taken back to the classic ESP Sunday set with ICE, Ian, Leo, James & O'Brian slamming classic ESP tunage one after the next ... aah the memories !
Splash Centurion was packed to capacity with a vibe even a rainstorm could not stop !
Halfway through the scorcher of a day clouds started gathering above the waterworld as if some strange entity had aimed to put out one wild party and then it happened, a cloud burst which would have dampened most moods was unleashed , people scrambled off the dancefloors trying to find shelter from the rain which had begun to fall, and then the worst case scenario... the music stopped ...the mixer had blown and all the could be heard was the surrounding dancefloors pounding through the intense rainfall, luckily the rain was short lived and soon the sun returned along with many smiling faces.
Patrons came creeping out of their shelters and a few minutes later the sudden burst of bass shuddered through the main arena as the mixer was replaced ! The Vibe was now twice as large, it would take allot more than that to stop us rainman !
VIPs where treated to there own bars and upper dance area as well as a Ibiza chillroom and exclusive toilets ...Thank heavens !!!
The highlight of the day had to have been when Cosmic gate dropped one of the latest released "Human Beings" the crowd went bezerk to say the least and cheers could be heard blocks away !
Splash has never disappointed and this event was no exception , bigger ...better...harder...faster !
Nice one guys !
Over & out
