Well, what can we say? Never ones to blow our own, brag or boast but on this occasion it has to be said - 2007 @ Ministry of Sound has been one hell of a (bleeping) year - Sasha, Moby, Morillo, Derrick May, Gabriel & Dresden, David Guetta Trent Moller, Steve Angello, Sebastian Ingrosso...the list just goes on.
Taking the first 2 weeks off in Jan to give the club a refurb we re-open on the 19th Jan, kick-starting the New Year off in fine style with the distinctive techno tones of Hi Tek Soul, and the launch of the much anticipated Francois K Masterpiece mix album. What a line-up as two of the scenes pioneering DJ's Derrick May & Francois K join together for a night of forward thinking Techno. In the Bar Jim Masters, Nico De Ceglia and Dom Chung will deliver driving tech beats, abrasive tones, and resonating bass lines.
We can hardly wait!
Read below for a heads up of what to expect from Francois' album...
Masterpiece spans three full discs, each of them with its own distinct musical flavor, and illustrating a different facet of what music Francois has recently been playing at various gigs around the globe. To give this a better meaning, he felt easiest to associate a specific city with each one of the three segments.
Disc One :: Napoli quickly gets things going with Electro and peaktime big-room choons, sparked by the usual enthusiasm and warm energy I find at every party I have ever played there, in this unique city full of passionate music lovers.
Disc Two :: Manchester takes us firmly into the realm of Techno, all the way back from its Detroit roots and up until today, as this has consistently been one of the places where these types of sounds will get everyone fired up and screaming for more.
Disc Three :: Tokyo then reaches all the way down to the sleazy downtempo grooves of its famous late-night parties, then proceeds to build it back up with some seriously deep House jams until the finale, where it unfurls its torrid climaxes with African percussions.
