Come join us as we prepare to celebrate the return of London’s biggest outdoor dance event: South West Four in fine style on Saturday 15th April. Be prepared for an evening of audio delights featuring one of the biggest DJs on the planet: Carl Cox as he kick starts the proceedings by unveiling the line up for this years massive event!
Joining Carl in the 3,500 capacity main room of the Academy will be friends Mr C, the owner of The End nightclub in Central London and the legend that is Tim ‘Nastydirtysexmusic’ Sheridan. The foyer will see London’s hottest breaks event Platform 12 turn up the bass as they welcome world famous DJ/ Producer Meat Katie to headline alongside Air’s Ali B plus Platform 12 residents, Whilst Upstairs sees Hot & Spicy, Plush De Funk and Dirty Groove serve up the best in tough and funky house.
Please note, this years event is not simply another club night at the Academy! Alongside Carl’s launch ceremony, expect stage shows, performers and festival oddities. plus opportunities for attendees to be the first in line for their South West Four festival tickets and also enter exclusive competitions, giveaways and chances to win VIP packages to this summers main event.
Carl Cox is one DJ who has truly been there, seen it and done it all. From his residency at the legendary Space in Ibiza to his worldwide 'Carl Cox & Friends' events Carl is truly an ambassador of dance music. As an early champion of Acid House music Carl was there from day one, playing at he opening night of Danny Rampling and Paul Oakenfolds' seminal Shoom club through to his ground breaking residency at Brighton's Zap Club and the moment he introduced 15,000 ravers to three deck mixing during his dawn set at the Sunrise Rave M25 Orbital rave way back in 1988 Carl's popularity was
cemented amongst clubbers and is still as strong today!
Carl enjoyed last summers South West Four so much he has asked to be part of this years event and not wanting to do things by half, he is the official figurehead for this summers event. He will not only be performing an exclusive 4 hour set but he will also officially be launching this summers event with a stage show set to blow you away!
Following two years of completely sold out events South West Four is all systems go for 2006 as it returns bigger, better and much stronger than before! What began as a party for 10,000 friends on Clapham Common in 2004 quickly doubled in capacity last summer to see 20,000 dance music fans converge for an afternoon of the best dance music played by some of the biggest DJ’s on the planet. As part of this summers Metro Weekender, this years event sees South West Four grow again to present two events taking place in two cities over the August Bank Holiday; London and Cardiff. This year also sees us join our friends at Get Loaded In The Park to offer clubbers in both cities joint tickets to enjoy the hottest weekender this year!
