On Friday 31st December Heat Events in association with The Gallery proudly present the third installment of HeatNYE at the world famous Carling Brixton Academy. In all its glorious history, the Academy has never known a line-up quite as large as what these two clubland giants have in store for 4500 die-hard clubbers on the biggest night of the year.
Spread across 4 Arenas of adventure featuring 29 DJs, HeatUK & The Gallery join forces for the first time ever. There is something here for everyone. The Gallery is of course one of the world's most decorated weekly club nights, having launched at Turnmills way back in 1995. Since then, they've single-handedly kick started the careers of countless overseas DJs here in the UK, including the likes of Sander Kleinenberg, Timo Maas, Benny Benassi and Gabriel & Dresden. In addition, The Gallery has also been influential in nurturing and developing a vast number of homegrown talent including the careers of Lottie, Tall Paul and Fergie. Next year The Gallery celebrates its 10th Anniversary and with this New Years Eve falling on their traditional Friday night party, the collaboration with HeatUK could only physically take place at a venue the size of Brixton Academy.
On New Year‚s Eve, the Brixton Academy becomes HeatUK‚s second home. This year promises to be our third sell-out even more in advance (over 1000 tickets have already sold as this went to press!). 2004 will be known as the year the club went all out and hosted the innovative South West Four‚ dance festival on Clapham Common for 10,000 people, featuring a sensational line-up of Sasha, Erick Morillo, X-Press 2 and The Gallery's very own resident Tall Paul. The club continues to host events at some of London's most renowned venues including Pacha, Turnmills and The Cross. Our brand now features overseas with special week-long parties in Ibiza and the now infamous 48 Hours In Amsterdam‚ weekenders!!
The line-up itself is massive, representing both the more trancey sound of The Gallery through to the tougher beats of HeatUK. Headlining the Main Room will be three of The Gallery's all-time favourite DJs in Tall Paul, Fergie & Eddie Halliwell. All three DJs wholeheartedly represent the whole ethos behind what makes The Gallery so special and Tall Paul ˆ the original resident, will exclusively be playing the midnight set, bringing in the New Year in style. Fergie‚s diary is as relentless as ever, with his own night Eccentric launching at The Gallery next year. His Radio 1 show has recently moved to a prime time Saturday night slot and all this within the space of 4 years!! Eddie Halliwell is now himself a Radio 1 Resident and he continues to dazzle dancefloors around the globe, fresh from his lofty position in the new DJ Mag Top 100 Poll.
Fellow Gallery resident Gavyn Mytchel (signed to Armin Van Buuren's record label) also joins the big three in the main room plus HeatUK's exclusive residents Marc French & Ian Betts. Both are hugely versatile DJs and acclaimed producers in their own right. Ian celebrates a year which saw him play alongside Van Buuren at the Cream opening in Ibiza. Next year promises even more. HeatUK favourite K90 will be playing a very special DJ set, while Andy Farley will close the celebration with his explosive style as we begin a brave new 2005.
