Since their formation in 2003, BigTime quickly became one of the hottest bands in the Southeast. They are very adept to performing traditional Carolina Beach Music, Rhythm and Blues, Classic Rock, Funk, Soul, R&B, etc... (in other words a wide and pleasing variety of party favorites).
They have showcased their talent at clubs, festivals, weddings and corporate events. BigTime has moved to the fore front of both live and recorded bands in their region. Signed by the south's premier label Ripete / KHP Music in 2008, BigTime regularly releases significant new music. In March of 2009, they released their debut CD, Footprints In The Sand, which includes several excellent original tunes along with some great classics. Shortly thereafter, they were nominated by the Carolina Beach Music Association as “Best New Act” for their annual awards ceremony. In 2012, they released the single “Cherry Groove” to an ecstatic response from the public. Songwriters John Wilson and Barry Briggs were nominated by the Carolina Beach Music Association for “Songwriter(s) of the Year”.
In 2013, they were pleased with two nominations... "Collaboration of the Year" and "Producer of the Year" (Johnny Wilson) for the song "Four O'Clock in the Morning" which was recorded with very special guest vocalist, R&B/Soul/Beach Music legend, Clifford Curry. All together, BigTime has enjoyed five songs achieving Top 10 status on the Carolina Beach Music charts with two of them reaching the number one position. This breakout recording and performing group has solidified its position as one of the most requested in it's region.
With eight active performers, BigTime displays vocal range and strength many other bands cannot easily match. Running the entire gamut from the powerhouse vocals of energetic and charismatic front man John Wilson, the bluesy vocal swagger of keyboardist Bill Hancock, to the mellow style of Tiffany Hancock, they personalize each song and impress you with their differences.
