It was in on a snow laden night in December that Brixton and Jamm felt the searing heat of Big Beat Re-union, as this iconic night returned to London and blew away everyone who braved the elements and attended a night that rocked Jamm in a very special way. This was followed up with a second event which featured a performance from the Dub Pistols that will stay in the memory for a long time. Well, the next chapter is about to be written as the night return for a very special 'Heavenly Social' vibed evening.
In the Main Room, alongside BBR head honcho Cut La Roc and residents Rejectbeats are dance music legends 808 State, FC Kahuna and Jon Carter, plus a very special guest DJ set from none other than The Specials Jerry Dammers. This list of DJs have been involved in almost every element of the history of broken beat, and every one of them has had an integral part to play. Having them all under one roof for this event will be nothing short of electric. Plus for anyone who spent far to many Saturdays shaking their thing at Turnmills and Heavenly Social, will certainly know a thing or two about what is in store.
Another special appearance and DJ set will be from Jerry Dammers, founder member of the Specials and label Two Tone. He will be digging deep into his record box and providing some incredible beats for the occasion.
With the above just in the main room, Big Beat Re-Union have invited Ghetto Funk to take the party into the future. After a massive year the team at Ghetto Funk have truly taken the mid-tempo party breaks scene by storm! They have created an amazing blog, crafted artists to showcase their sound and launched a chart topping label, not to mention re-branding the scene and launching it as their own "genre" not bad for the first year.
For their first ever event in London they are taking over the front room and offering the first event on Featurecast's EP tour. Joining Featurecast for the night are party rockers The Dancefloor Outlaws doing an exclusive DJ Set alongside MC Profit, not forgetting the awesome B-Side & Goodgroove.
